Parents can’t look away for a minute if they send their children to public schools. There is even reason to be concerned for families in the quiet community of Gilbert, Arizona. Most of the families are raising their children with Christian values and traditions, but that may fall by the wayside by the time the kids graduate from high school.
A Facebook post surfaced today about a strange “marriage” which was acted out in a Val Vista Lakes Elementary kindergarten classroom.
Take a look at the photos posted on social media this morning, photos the Gilbert School District “liked”. The skit was supposed to portray the letters Q and U always being used together, which is a good thing. But a marriage? It is assumed the male, or groom, was played by the female below.
A woman wearing a traditional female wedding gown is escorted by her “father” to meet her groom.
Exactly what is the bride’s spouse supposed to be other than the letter “U”? Is the bride marrying a woman dressed as a man? Or is the groom a woman pretending to be a man? Both situations are currently prevelant in society. Neither reflect scientific nor traditional marriage.
While this kindergarten lesson may have been prepared with no harm intended, the scenario will confuse the children. As they see commercials, athletes, their teachers, and others playing house with the same sex or removing organs to pretend to be the opposite sex, these ideas will be normalized, much to the dismay of their parents. Children can’t unsee these images. It is no wonder mental health issues have risen in kids when the adults in the room don’t have proper boundaries.
No worries, Gilbert parents. Down the road if the kids are still confused about who can marry whom and how does that affect their world, Gilbert Public School District provides some keen mental health partnerships.
Teen Lifeline sounds like a helpful agency. Dig a little, though, and look who the organization hooks up with.
Never assume anything from the government is here to help.
Ummmm…..they meant NOTHING sexual by it…. You are attacking a CONSERVATIVE Christian woman, and an LDS woman!! You are PROJECTING things onto this that were not even REMOTELY anything to do with what they were teaching. Even CHILDREN understood that one teacher was the man, and one was the woman- It was only a dress up because there wasn’t a real MALE kindergarten teacher. You are DELIBERATELY attacking in a twisted way to get attention and get people all stirred up. If ANYTHING, they WERE portraying traditional marriage!! I am a conservative Christian, and I don’t disagree on some issues, but on THIS, you are projecting your own black and white spin and fears onto innocent people. If you go through life seeing a boogeyman behind EVERY tree, you eventually find yourself villanizing those who do not deserve your vitrol. Instead of destroying others, why don’t you pull your kids and homeschool them? Believers have been doing it for many years, instead of behaving like pharisees and giving Jesus a black eye to the world.
Why?? Because you are a shrill divisive person or people, who thrive on your own anger, power and chaos. And….you are a PERFECTLy sinless

The Pharisees paid a great deal of attention to outward ordinances and actions that would make them appear righteous, but they were not as concerned with actually being righteous in their hearts. For this Jesus referred to them as hypocrites. They attacked HIM.
They did not feature a mock same sex wedding. They featured a mock wedding of the letter Q and U, and the majority of the staff are female. This school is majority Mormon teachers and students who are just as conservative as you are. You have no idea who you’re attacking. Your need to make everything about your culture war put me in a position where I had to explain “grooming” to my 7 and 9 year old kids who were reading the signs of the picketers yesterday. I feel sorry for you and the anger and fear you live in.
Anyone who thinks Suzanne Lunt is conservative has not followed her closely.
Belonging to a certain church or political party does not make someone conservative. Just look up the road at Mesa’s Mayor John Giles.
If the wedding was so innocent, why was the post removed from the Gilbert Schools Facebook account once the public found out? The mock wedding was not reflective of the values of the community and to add to the disrespect, the kindergarten parents were never notified a mock wedding would take place in class with two females as the happy couple.
